Escape, nostalgia, romance, euphoria, seduction and desire are all themes that motivate my paintings.

Childhood memories interwoven with stories, Alice in Wonderland, good overcoming evil with the romance and thrill of knights jousting, the nostalgic ride on the carousel, the mesmerising warmth of the beach, are all scenarios that communicate with our inner self, our primal being.

They can either be interpreted as innocent sources of seduction to be indulged in or otherwise as baseless apparitions that will quickly dissolve like sugar in the mouth. Once the sugar has dissolved we are left only with hungry desire, and a want that can never be satisfied.

Sweets for example, are carefully marketed through clever packaging and imaginative simulations of fruit, thereby making them more enticing. They offer an irresistible, short lived experience always to leave us wanting more.

In this sense the seduction and allure are reminders of our own vulnerability as humans and exist as hauntings from our childhood, an image sequence played out from our past.

I am striving to create the impression that the compositions are in constant flux, pulling parts of the composition into focus while leaving other parts nebulous, fading into the background. Rather like a kaleidoscope they shift and mutate, merging into the next ephermeral vision.

Born and raised in London, I studied Fine Art for four years at Middlesex University, focusing essentially on painting and video. Since graduating I have continued to cultivate my passion for painting, while also working as a graphic designer at Pink Pigeon, a successful DVD & video postproduction company I co-created in Soho, London. I am currently represented by the gallery 'Catalogo' in Buenos Aires, Argentina although live in the interior of the country with my wife and two children.
